Do you remember?

I'm really not sure if I posted this painting before. I think that I meant to but never got around to it.
It's done on a 4'x4' plywood panel.
The underpainting is done in acrylic, but the final layers are done in oil.
I wanted to continue with my GARDEN OF EDEN theme.
The under-most layers were done in watercolor as you may be able to see in the deer. Later I began to use a more pointillist method on the last layers.
I decided to begin using this method when I realized that it was really difficult to see my paintings. They have always leaned toward the darker color spectrum...which often had a tendency too be very two dimensional and flat. The "pointillist" method allows for a lot of Optical Color Mixing, and so more depth, texture and interest can occur.
Strangely, my palette has never changed much. I use a lot of earth tones- browns, umbers, siennas, oranges....but also black and white. Somehow, by painting using layers of dots, it seems each bit of color to be individually highlighted.
Yes, it is very time consuming....but, I enjoy it none-the-less.

I finally just today framed the print that I bought from you months ago!
I looks SO much better in a frame instead of thumb-tacked to the wall! Sheesh!
