Another year...another Passover......This year, however was even more special than others past....
This year my kids were old enough to really begin to participate and somewhat understand the story of the Exodus, it's metaphors and it's application to their own lives.
This year we understood and appreciated how "lucky" we really are to have each other and the memories we share together. The economy has made things difficult for everyone...and I think often of how my father suffered during the Great depression ....as a child..... during holidays and festive seasons...and I really feel blessed to be able to share this joy and abundance with my own family.....

Jean, Thank you for this post. Its so true. My parents were young children during the great depression too. They've told us stories about what it was like to go without... still, my siblings and I never really had to go without. We weren't rich (by any means), but we always had enough. My hubby and I have somehow been able to put food on the table and keep a roof over the heads of our family too. The economy has impacted almost everyone in one way or another. One good thing, amongst all the bad news is that, like you said... its made me and my family stop and be thankful that we have each other.
